The Peterborough & Area Master Gardeners

Join GreenUP and The Peterborough and Area Master Gardeners for the second Growing Together event on June 6 at GreenUP Ecology Park. This beginner-friendly session is designed for anyone interested in learning more about gardening in the Peterborough area.

Four Master Gardeners will lead a Gardening Basics workshop, beginning with a short 15-minute introduction and demonstration to help new gardeners learn all about:

soil health, shaker tests, compost, fertilizer
gardening zones, light conditions and watering
types of plants, such as annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees
garden care and maintenance, including deadheading, weeding, and pruning, etc.

Following the introduction, participants will create their own Herb Planter, filled with 3 to 5 types of herbs and marigolds for their home gardens. A summary sheet of the seminar information will be distributed to all attendees.
